I absolutely love the Monaco, but the AD told me that the it was not a saphire crystal and was acrylic which scared me away as this would tend to scratch more easily.
Has that been your exprience?

It is sapphire crystal front and back. Even says so on the back of the case. Sorry, blurry cell phone pic... |

Nothing wrong with acrylic. Get some polywatch and it rubs right off. I do the same with my speedmaster.

I'm looking into getting into a tag but I don't know what to look for really. I'm on the entry level side, I also have considered buying used, Craigslist has a bunch. Seems some people buy them because they're expensive and don't need or care for them so they sell them. I don't really know where to start in regards to what to look for. How to chose one is puzzling me because unlike cars I'm a novice. I couldn't even really tell you what watch specs mean or why they are or aren't important. So far I've gathered I'd want to get a formula 1 or aqua racer if I'm on a budget. It's so tough to get pricing.

Just like cars - go for a test drive! Head over to a jeweler or wherever you can find some tags and try them on. This is how I determined the F1 was right for my first tag.

All nice pieces!
One of the Grand Carrera series will definitely be my next. Actually almost picked one up in Vegas recently but opted to blow the equivalent in cash on Blackjack and drinking LOL. I've had a vintage Oris since I was 16 and haven't upgraded since. Its about time.

Unfortunately that's not going to help me if I buy used or pre owned but never worn. I don't even know which ones to look for and not look for based on pricing, for all I know the one I want is way too pricey for me I've got to figure out which model is best for what I can consider spending.

The newer models are not far off from what might be pre-owned. You can get a good feel of what you like and don't like in person.

I have 2 Tag Heuer watches. I have a Grand Carrera Calibre 17 Chronograph with a White/Silver face and a Link Automatic Chronograph with a Grey face. I'll post pictures soon. Unfortunately, both do not get worn much as I wear my Ulysse Nardin watch nearly every day.
