Looks like NYC will finally get their first heat wave (3 days of 90+ F highs) of 2023 this week...in September! The long-term forecast is hinting at a refreshing cool-off early next week here.....

Non-stop thunderstorms since around 2 PM here, with torrential downpours and flash flood warnings galore. Had a lightning strike VERY close to my car stopped in traffic on an urban road, which is the last thing that someone 100% dependent on their pacemaker and driving the only BMW model that's not a Faraday cage wants to experience.....

A nasty line of thunderstorms heading our way. Should be here around 8pm. Maybe the cold front will get rid of the humidex currently sitting at 97°F.

We had training thunderstorms here again yesterday evening until after midnight. More of the same through mid-week in the long-range forecast. After that, the forecast is for sunny with highs in the low 70's F and lows in the low 50's F starting on Thursday.....

Looking at our local 7-day forecast, today may be the last highs in the 80's F for 2023. Big front coming through early tomorrow, and chamber of commerce weather after that through the weekend.
Yesterday's flood watch was punctuated by a thunderstorm with torrential rain just as I was supposed to be leaving work for the day. After the rain slowed down and I got into my car, the roads around where I work needed no-wake signs. On the tropics front, the latest spaghetti models are hinting that Lady Jane may be in for a date with Himmicane Lee late this coming weekend.....

Oh the weather network was hacked a couple days ago apparently.. it's sort of back online but not quite.
You can search the article if you care. Single digit (C) night time and high teen (C) day time, not bad at all. |
