People give too much of a fuck about what people think about them and how they are seen in others eyes.
Lol it's lowkey always been like that though.

I don't pretend to understand politics, especially American politics, but is it honestly true that despite how citizens vote (which then is supposed to represent electoral votes), that the electoral college doesn't actually have to vote the way the citizens told them to vote?

If so, that's screwed up. I can understand the mindset of my vote doesn't matter much in that case, although at least it should provide a guideline of what I want (and I would vote regardless).

Well technically, if a presidential candidate gets the most votes in a state, they get all of that states electoral votes, no? Unless there are unseen technicalities, and it varies by state.

I've never seen so much hate being spewed on social media. So much worse than when Obama was elected both times. Honestly, I'm disgusted by it.

Yeah, I understand, but I also heard someone say that the people hired that make up the electoral college (the ones who cast their votes which legally elect the president), don't have to actually vote the way the state (ie. citizens) told them to vote. Which is just screwed up I think.

Oh damn. Well in that case, that's pretty bad. The popularity contest was basically tied between them, with Hillary edging him out, barely. But with the way the EC numbers went down, it was a landslide; that's what I was a bit confused about, also, but I realized that she probably lost a lot of the states she expected to win, last minute.
