HAM vs the FIA jewellery regulations : 'Heavy penalties threaten for Mercedes driver !

So...HAM popped up with a medical exemption at the Miami GP , because his jewellery and piercings are really hard to remove .

But the FIA wont let him go with that for the next GP in Spain ( May 22 )
If his jewellery Isn't removed in Spain , HAM will be fined 50,000 Euros + 25,000 Euros from the probation period .
= 75,000 Euros !

If repeated, a fine of 100,000 euros can be imposed, plus the 25,000 Euros from the probation period.
= 125,000 Euros !

A third violation of the FIA jewellery rules will result in a 250,000 Euros fine and deduction of his Championship drivers points.
=> https://www.gpblog.com/nl/nieuws/110...r-coureur.html

HAM's last words : Our team has spare drivers !

Yup and it's often due to his aggressive racing style. First race he tried to go side by side with Leclerc on the restart and it completely botched his restart as his line was so close to the apex he almost lost position to Sainz. Next race same thing, and then when fighting for the drs position be was easily out smarted by Leclerc who let him pass so he could overtake max again with the second drs zone. And this mistake was done multiple times during the race. During this qualifying session he went too hard again just like last year in Jeddah and screwed up his qualifying lap where he likely could have at least beaten Sainz. He has a near perfect car with the highest trap speeds and zero porpoising to struggle against, so any mistake that is made is on him he has no excuses.

Sure he is talented but he is way to aggressive, and that's holding him back.

This is the silliest "MB is an innovative team" analysis I ever read...

Max's aggressiveness is one of the many reasons why he's better than most of the grid - including your boy.

It's also why Charles is able to compete with Max.

Racing is Racing - calling most of these events "mistakes" is a terrible take.

Can they still develop it or is this what they’ll have once the freeze goes into effect til 2026?

Hate to say it for my team in red but it appears RB has the advantage when you factor in tire wear and DRS top speed. Ferrari has a noticeable advantage in the slower first sector but the RB is up on the last two, all they have to do is have DRS and there’s really nothing that can be done to keep them from passing. I just hope Carlos doesn’t DNF again and they can make the best the for the constrictor’s points.

I don't have a favorite driver nor a favorite team. My take on things are mostly a reply to what goes on here, and the general trend is bash Mercedes and Lewis and occassionally any driver that threatens Max's image, praise max and redbull.

It's clear Mercedes is the team pushing innovations, what have redbull or others done outside the box these past few years that no one else has done? Or what other things have they pioneered these past few years?

And his aggressive style also costed him many points last year too.

No it's a one and done, you have one chance once you release the update it's locked in till 2026. So it surprised me why they released it do early on.

Red Bull top speed

Max vs Leclerc qualifying

Massive top speed difference, Max and Checo should be well positioned.

Pass on the straight and take it slow on line through the turns.

Carlos “number 2” Painz will keep Max behind by slowing several times before DRS enabled to allow LEC time to build a gap.

I would assume max gets past Sainz on the start, because I really don't have faith in Sainz. Also if both Mercs don't get decent points they're likely out of contention even if they fix their car in the coming races.

Max starts lately can be good or bad but I agree Carlos may be cautious starting on the dirty side.

Checo hit 354 kph on a lap. Wild.

Just five thousandths between Sainz and Max, that's crazy.

Yes very good drag reduction on the rb18, I wonder what the power delta is between the cars too. I also wonder why they don't load the car in an ultra high down force config Mercedes style, they have the top speed to play with - and Thill help them catch Ferrari.

RB must be happy with the current balance of the 18 without adding more wing, doing that would cut the top speed advantage..that's a long straight.

Yes, but they're losing out alot on the corners. So they should consider trading some of that off for down force to aide corner performance. Obviously I could be completely wrong and the downforce gained isn't great enough to outweigh the top speed lost. But they do have the speed to play with and Ferrari is so far away from them in terms of cornering speed.
