Well, salmon is a good choice, and the mushrooms are good, of course the stuffing and oils aren't but hey for a cheat it's not bad! Next time eat baked salmon, with mushrooms that aren't stuffed or cooked in heaps of oil, and you have a similar meal, that's healthier. I would add another veggie on the side like asparagus, and broccoli, just remember to avoid oils, those can quickly turn healthy veggies into fattening ones.

That's the healthiest/lowest calorie meal you have posted thus far, that's the kind of meal that will get you to where you need to be!

Made some lunch today. Probably the healthiest thing I have had this week.
. Black rice which is just as healthy as brown rice

Grilled up some chicken breast in a no salt seasoning

Made an avocado tomato onion corn and cilantro salad with lemon and lime juice

Mix it all together and voila!

Yeah I wasn't sure how the black rice would turn out since I had never tried it but it was really good. Adds a really cool contrast for the vegetables and tastes great

It was really good, im working on portion size right now because that seems to be my biggest weakness when trying to eat healthy. this serving was roughly half of what i would have normally eaten so hopefully my body adjusts over time and i can get fuller faster

An easy way to do that is to eat off of smaller plates. It kinda tricks your brain into thinking that you've had more than you did. Also eating more slowly is important. Leptin takes effect about 20 mins after your first bite so it helps to have food left on the plate when that kicks in, otherwise you just eat until it does.

Here's a tip about portion sizes: If you eat foods that are dense in nutrients, but not calories, you don't have to worry about portion size. So sometimes I will eat a huge portion of nutrient dense/low calorie foods before a meal.

For example, I might eat a heaping plate of steamed broccoli, and a large bowl of spinach. If you ingest big servings of food like those before you touch anything else, I guarantee you that you will eat small servings of whatever else that you would typically eat for dinner.

I had a trainer friend who put me on a diet once. It worked great, lost a bunch of weight quickly, was never hungry, but that didn't last. It was too restrictive for me all I was eating was basically chicken and broccoli, chicken and sweet potato, chicken and asparagus. I mean I got to eat a lot of it but it's not for me. I need my rice lol!

Anyways last year I went on just a calorie restricted diet and counted my calories with myfitnesspal. I could eat whatever I wanted, so long as I stayed at or under my calorie intake. Lost 50lbs in a few of months and so far only gained like 5lbs (shortly after I stopped) but have maintained the rest for over a year now.

If I had any sweets in the house it would be like small individually wrapped portions so that I would eat one and done. I also tried to always have fruits and pickles in the house. So at night when I want to watch TV and snack on something I would eat my pickles. The hardest part was tracking my calories when I would eat out. Since I always eat breakfast and dinner (during the week) at home I had those down pack. Always 3 eggs for breakfast with 5 sugar cubes in my coffee no cream. For dinner I had pre-packed exactly 8oz of chicken breast and put them in the freezer which I would eat with a cup of rice. This left me the majority of my calories for lunch which I pretty much eat out for lunch every day. Still I would try to pick healthier things but I knew I had a buffer there.

Anyways.... went off on a tangent there.

My favorite pizza, Anthony's Coal Fired pizza!

thats interesting, my dads pretty into fitness and he always tells me to down two big glasses of water before a meal and to always have a few almonds or cashews before because they do wonders at filling you up. I like the idea of steamed broccoli though, one of my favorites

Well if you are trying to cut down on portions, or lose weight, than you should definitely give it a shot!

I made this for dinner tonight, it's not the lowest calorie meal but it's pretty clean and nutritious. Baked salmon topped with mango salsa and a little pico, with steamed asparagus, and a sweet potato with cinnamon.

Yep, cinnamon is good stuff! I also like baking some apples or pears with cinnamon and some coconut nectar, for a healthy desert.
