This discussion on condition is relevant to something I recently noticed in a local Metro-NY nightly news show. They played a CCTV video of some guys robbing a jewelry store in Manhattan. The one perpetrator pulls out his pistol and racks it. I thought it was really odd that a guy pulling a gun in a jewelry store robbery wouldn't have kept one in the chamber. 🤷🏻*♂️
He probably learned it on an episode of Dumb Criminals. LOL

Noveske 8.5" 300 BLK I picked up as a pistol, but now it's an SBR. I've since moved the sight back a couple of slots though.

Picked these up yesterday.

I can't wait to get them to the range. Ruger PC 9 (the PC stands for Politically Correct) on top and a Mini 14. Not too scary looking because I can see scary guns becoming a problem in the not to distant future here in the Great White North.

Lots of reviews out there and some good comparison articles and videos. If you're partial to the AR style platform then there is also the JR Carbine.

Ruger has announced 6 new models of the PC, now available in .40 Calibre.

The PC 9 fits the bill for me because I have a Glock pistol and like the interchangeability of mags.

As well you should be...they recently took down a guy who concealed an "assault rifle-pistol" here in MD:

Could you imagine how much damage a gun that scary looking could do? Only the military should possess such powerz.

Interesting. I had been considering a mini 14 but the PC 9 compatibility with my glock mags and ammo would be convenient

Oooh, he's got the .22LR HK416 "pistol" clone.

I've been looking at getting the rifle version for my son to do some plinking.

Not available in Canada yet, but then I'd have to get a Glock chamber in .45.....oh, wait what could possibly go wrong? My wife says no more guns for a while though.

The beauty of this hobby is that you literately just convinced yourself to buy both!

You do know she’s buying new shoes and bags all the time and laughing telling her friends my husband has no idea, they all look the same to him. Just saying.

I like my PCC’s in .30 carbine but I certainly would love a classic Ruger .44 mag Deerslayer.

Not trying to insult you or anything. I just meant if a handgun is being concealed or carried, a proper holster with a trigger guard should always be used; even in the pocket (pocket holster) regardless if it's striker or hammer fired.
This. Never depend on a safety. Having a safety gives some confidence that the firearm is somehow safer when its "on" News flash-its not

One side that people usually don't think of as far as having a chambered round: Someone else grabbing your gun.
The correct and this may sound trite.-No one grabs your gun while you are alive. Its as simple as that. There are training techniques to this as I know grumpy knows.

I wish I could say I never had an AD. But I have. I would guess most people that shoot 10's of thousands of rounds do. Once you have one you will never have an other one.

If you're carrying a gun with an external safety do they know how to work it? Also, if you're carrying CCW, how do they know you're carrying? I think in the situation you're describing you are actually hoping for the element of surprise.
Its obvious YOU have had training. Are you an instructor-I would guess you are. I hope some on the board learn from you.

I buy my ammo for the last 5 years at targetsportsusa.com. Free shipping, no tax and $2.80 for insurance.

If no one has an ND then that'd mean you're perfect. Even the special forces and seals I work with have had NDs. But since they were practicing the most important principle, always point in a safe direction, no harm no foul.

I think grumpy is a retired LEO.

I was not a Use of Force/Firearms instructor. I turned the job down on a number of occasions because I couldn't bring myself to doing the same training sessions day after day. I did benefit from years of excellent training and real life experience. I'd like to think I have an informed opinion on some of these topics, I offer my opinion based on my training and experience and what has worked for me during 30+ years of policing a in a large city. I coached new officers for years and always told them that I have my way of doing things, other officers may do things differently, both can be right so develop your own way, but trust your training and skill set.
