When the original Ford Raptor debuted in 2010, we worked closely with HRE to develop the TR46 Prototype (later launching into the full TR1 Series) and it served as the perfect 6-Lug Raptor approved option in aftermarket wheels for many years. With the release of an all new body style we knew these models would no longer cut it so we pleaded with HRE to develop something fresh for the Ford and boy did they listen! Using their flagship P101 as a starting point, HRE added an extra pair of spokes and beefed up the load rating to accommodate the Raptor’s rugged capabilities; the all-new P161 was born. When a repeat customer of ours walked back into WB HQ asking for something flashy yet performance driven for his 991 Turbo we knew exactly what to do. Ever since the creation of the R101 Lightweights late last year, these HRE’s have been the go-to custom forged choice for those exotic car owners needing to squeeze every last ounce of performance out of their vehicles. Why were the R101 LW’s the choice? Try 20”x9” fronts under 20 lbs each and 20”x13” rears just a tick over 20. Pair that with sticky 255 & 335 Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires and you’ve got a monster on your hands.

Many argue that the newest Ford Raptor isn’t much of a departure from the 1st generation when it comes to adding aggression to the platform. This Avalanche Grey example, however, is equipped with HRE’s brand new P161 – a wheel model designed specifically for the latest Raptor – and finished in a bright in-your-face SunKist. With more viewing area for the brakes now, our client decided his calipers and rotors needed a little more beef. In come our boys at Brembo with their 6 and 4 Piston GT Kit in gloss black to fill in some of the gap and add a bit more stopping power. We also paired a set of big boy 37”x13.50”x22” rugged terrain tires with these 22x11 forged monoblocks and the results speak for themselves! Maybe it’s the parts we added but we’re pretty sure THIS new Raptor is plenty aggressive! Give us a holler when you’re ready to evolve your Raptor into something more.

The summer drop tops just keep on coming. Arguably HRE’s most underrated wheel – the Classic Series 305M – is finished in an elegant Brushed Clear Satin. If you’ve never seen it before it’s because this was the first time HRE has applied it to one of their wheels. Talk about first world problems.

I think the 201s look better, but having said that, I never noticed the x5's wheel arches are squared off like that. Makes both sets look weird on the car, because of the oddly shaped wheel gaps instead of ones that parallel the curve of the wheel. Is it just me?

There have been times where we see a beautiful set of aftermarket wheels that work well on a vehicle, only to have the whole look ruined by neglected-teeny-tiny brakes. With their new flagship P2 Monoblock series, HRE focused their eye to the exotic market – designing wheels for cars like the Lamborghini Aventador and Ferrari 488. This latest iteration of the car loving pooch’s SUV has got to be one of our very favorites. The 21” P201’s frame those massive Type 3 Brembo rotors beautifully, and the gloss white powder coat makes those yellow 6 piston calipers come alive! This combo may not be for everyone, but there’s no denying it’s eye catching and with that Akrapovic Ti system quite an ear full to boot. Can’t wait to see what’s next for the OsoMobile!
