I'm sorry but I lost my old phone along with Kobe's number. Can you please call him up and confirm that he likes the so called "old school rough style" that you mentioned?

Kobe said the NBA is more finesse now. I would say he's alluding to the way the game was played earlier in his career. Refferees allowed the big boys to play. Unlike now, the game is constantly stopped by a whistle/soft foul.

and Kobe is completely right. For what it's worth, Michael Jordan had the same thoughts about the NBA today. It's one of the worst things about today's NBA, it's totally dominated by idiotic floppers like Ginobli, Parker, Lebron, etc.

I watched the NBA in the 80s and 90s and today's game is simply more soft. The entire Pistons Championship team in 1990 would have been given multiple flagrant fouls for the way they played during those playoffs.

Getting rid of hand checking was idiotic. I'm mixed about zone defense. I think it should stay but I loved seeing hard nosed, one on one defense. That's the kind of thing that gave us such memorable shots like Jordan winning the finals against Utah by sinking a 20 footer over Byron Russell by making him come out of his shoes.

Flagrant 1 and Jordan would have gotten a $25,000 fine.

Damn the NBA is soft these days.

It's hard to explain to those who weren't around in the 80's, and 90's. The NBA was so, so much more competitive. Nowadays, you have a lot of so called fans that are fans of a player, not a team. It's really difficult for me to get into the games now, especially being a Knicks fan. NBA has become a league of cry babies, floppers, and horrible teams. It just isn't the same, let these big boys play.

Yeah tell me about it. There was a game earlier this season where the Clippers were playing the Warriors. Some scrub nobody from the Warriors bench throws an elbow at Blake's head. Blake doesn't respond physically, but he stands there and ask "WTF man?"

The out of shape midget ref runs over and signals TWO flagrant fouls on both of them.

Two plays later, Bogut, the fouling idiot, puts Griffin into a headlock, and Griffin tries to extract his head. Another flagrant on both players! Griffin gets ejected, the clippers #1 scorer, and it completely changes the competitiveness of what was an otherwise exciting and competitive game. The NBA even had to issue a statement saying that the ejection was wrong.

The softness is increasing every season, and it's ruining the game.

Nice, OKC won. Durant is on fire. So many teams, with so little talent. Hey MediaArtist, I have family in Mission Viejio. I wish I was there because it's 15 degrees right now in NYC. However, It's Super Bowl weekend.

Phoenix shot the lights out that night. Something like close to 80% from beyond the arc. Ridiculous stuff.

That ass-whooping the Pacers received occurred during a 5-game Western Conference road trip. Which they came out of 3-2. Not too shabby.

It's hard to win on the road in the NBA. Ask the Heat.

Let's see how the Pacers respond when they play the Suns in Indianapolis later this evening.

super super close game between Rockets and Mavs.

after dumping two stupid games to the Grizz, the Rockets bounced back by beating the Spurs and the Mavs...

Dirk went off with 38 points, but he was the only starter in double figures....

with the balanced attack of Parsons, Dwight and Lin, the Rockets built a comfortable lead - then it started crumbling like it always does.

Rockets up by 2 with 20 seconds remaining - Aaron Brooks throws the ball away, turnover, Mavs ball.

4 seconds left, Calderon misses a 3 pointer, grabs the offensive board and shoots another 3 pointer, misses.

the Rockets gave me indigestion, heartburn and diarrhea last night - those fucks.

Rockets 31-17

I think OKC gets another chance at Miami during the finals.

My long shot wish is Lob City vs Indiana.

How do you think I feel being a Mavs fan. I was about to throw some furniture with this game. Dallas is losing all the close games this year, except the game winner from Monta Ellis against Portland early in the year. Hopefully something happens with trade deadline in a couple of weeks.

But at least we have the 2011 Championship to go back to! LOL.

Joey Johnson and Bosh don't deserve to be there.... Lance does and Lowry maybe...

Lance is the real backbone of the pacers....

Rockets beat the Cavs last night....

Lin went off with a triple-double off the bench: 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists

Harden went for 28...Dwight went for 26...

here's an awesome stat: Patrick Beverly, our starting PG, didn't score ANY points, but he grabbed 10 rebounds and had 8 assists. he did his job and reminded everyone why he is out there - he got 5 steals. he's our defensive pest in the backcourt.

Rockets 32-17

I disagree with the Bosh thing. He is scorching hot from midrange this season. He is shooting 53.3% from the field and is the only real help LeBron has been getting when Wade sits out. Specially considering how most of the Heat bench has been MIA, not pun intended.
