Morning all.

I have a problem. Service records show my car had the fuel injector recall done back in 2011, however I still have all 6 original -01 injectors, i.e. they didn't replace any of them. What gives? I assume BMW won't replace them now even if the other dealer was unscrupulous.

Raise hell. They'll budge, and they rightfully should. If they push back just say Johnnie Cochran is your attorney and you feel they are being prejudice against you.

Hmm... well I may have spoken too soon. Apparently it wasn't as cut and dry as "go to dealer, get new injectors".

They have to scan the serial number on the injector, which the computer uses along with VIN and mileage to spit out "OK" or "Replace", but who cares about functional tests anyway. Guess I was just unlucky.

Ugh.
Just had the transfer case replaced on the X5. It would have been almost $5K had it not been under warranty. Unreal.

Gold is a good place to hold money, in my opinion. I think the price is a tag bit high right now. As far as investing (stocks) right now, oil is my go to because of the volatility in the field. Economy is oil dependent. Tech is my other pick. I stick with things I'm comfortable with.

Automobile industry isn't looking too good. The lending is becoming a bit ridiculous. That will definitely create problems down the road.

As far as business, hotel/gas station industry is well above carrying capacity, but demand for those properties is high enough to drive cost up. I'd give it a couple years. Franchising is still the way to go, but quality needs to be maintained.

As much as I want a BMW daily, this scares me because I drive so much. The VW is out of warranty but I know I won't be changing $5k transfer cases on it. Hell, at $5k, I'll just replace the whole damn car! Lol

Man, that's a steep bill. This is my first experience with BMW, but these cars really do seem like they're 'pay me now, or pay me later'. Either have a warranty and eat a bunch of depreciation, or get an older one and deal with all of the maintenance that comes with it.

Haha I've probably already got flags on my account for claims activity. Been a bad couple months! Had a claim on my roof, then the dude crashed into my Jeep/porch, so I have the auto and another homeowners claim (on his insurance though). It's stupid!

Also, completely agree on point 2. Every time I daily the BMW I feel like the clock is ticking faster on the next repair.

Haha this is so true. The M3 is currently apart in my garage. I had to order a new throttle actuator for it. $600. Plus, once I get it installed, I have to take it to the dealer so they can recalibrate the throttle bodies. I'm hoping this will solve my current issue.
