What are your thoughts on vehicles playing loud music? I mean is there a decibel range where it becomes illegal? I find loud music to be very therapeutic. Especially with the windows open.

In California, 27007 CVC states that 50 feet is the threshold. I don't bother normal people, but I do pull over gangsters with their music blasting.

Definitely stay away from Altima's, especially those built between 2002-2011. Oh, and Kia Optima's too.

I have a question. How many days/weeks do the friends and family of a deceased individual keep visiting the scene of their untimely demise? We lost a troubled kid in our small-town neighborhood earlier this week, and it seems like there has been a constant parade of people visiting the place where he perished ever since. Just curious.....

In my experience it lasts about a week or two, but people do periodically leave candles/flowers/pictures/etc. at the site.

I've wondered something. Supposing you guys could catch a drug dealer; you confiscate his/her money and dope, record it, but then tell them they're free to go? There would be no record of him having been caught, but he would be free. Would there be repercussions?

Repercussions for who?….the dealer or the officers?

Unless things are changed you can exercise your desecration and issue a caution, seize the "drugs" for destruction. I've done that lots of times.

In Ontario there are two different charges, un-necsasarry noice (usually for burnouts) and unreasonable noise for loud stereo's honking horns etc. Depending on the area and time of day there is also a criminal charge, Mischief interfere with property, if they were disturbing a residential area in the middle of the night, we'd use it for loud house parties usually or booze cans.

That's more or less how it is now, but if it's a sales caper Major Crimes will want the issue pursued.

What I'm getting at is would there be retribution for losses of money, or dope, for that matter?

Effectively no. Although, the officers you(ve) deal(t) with know what you're all about and will keep tabs.

If you seize money there would be reports to file, even if you didn't lay a charge. Maybe I'm missing your point though.

Sorry for the confusing question. I was referring to the dealer's angle. Would there be repercussions if they could not account for lost dope or money?
