My last batch of Tabbouleh was gobbled-up by my guests, so I had to make a new one. This time I ditched the rosemary and the basil then added dill instead and some sage. The English cucumber is definitely staying in the recipe. After the picture was taken, I drained the excess liquid. Pretty happy with the results.

Great thread Jane. 🤤 I love me some Baked Goods and I watch lots of Baking Reality Competition shows. I've baked a little bit. But my specialty is over an open flame.

Beans~ Part 2.
All ingredients added and into the oven for seven hours. Fresh out of the oven. I will let it sit overnight and transfer to tubs for the freezer. |

Productive day baking
Productive day baking. Sourdough bread, and sourdough chocolate chip cookies. Dang I didn’t think to get ice cream. They would make great sandwiches.

It's " Jane's World-renowned seafood chowder™ time.

Fresh out of the oven. OMG...The smell. I'm probably driving the dogs and blind lesbians crazy for several kilometers. Bahaha...
(Yes, I'm into the fruity wine.) |

I baked my first "loaf" of sourdough last night.
Son brought home starter, I've been learning. Then yesterday when I took some SRF ribeye out, I asked if he was making any contribution. He had mixed up a batch to take to his buddy's house, so poured ingredients into a bowl and gave me the details. It didn't seem like I had enough time between then and dinner to get 3 pulls and a rest/rise, so this is pretty dense. Still went very well with ribeye/loaded mashed potatoes.

My last experiment with Levantine bread was a bit of a hit and miss. I made a few newbie mistakes. It was not bad tasting but I didn't like the final product and presentation.
This time I used another recipe and followed it to the letter. https://cookwithrenu.com/manakish-za...ine-flatbread/ Well... It turned out perfect and almost as nice as the pictures in the above link. I did however used the Zatar spice mix in moderation for my first batch. What do you think? |
