Just thought about this today, but if Charlie Strong is indeed gone from Texas...time to call Jim Tressel. That offense is suited for his type of offense. It will be interesting if his name comes up.

Yes he looked awful. Supposedly Speight was practicing today and will be a game time decision. Either way he won't be 100%. Surprised the spread is only 6.5 points. Home game for OSU and possibly a second string QB for Mich, OSU should have this in the bag.

Whatever.
At the end of the day you Buckeye fans still have to call Ohio home. I can't think of many states more useless in the union than Ohio. |

So I wonder how the playoffs will look now. If PSU loses to MSU then it helps possibly keep UofM in the playoff standings? Louisville blew it and Wisconsin is losing currently so it will be interesting to see how the cards fall.

My guess would be Alabama, Clemson (assuming they win tonight and vs. Va Tech), Washington (assuming win in PAC 10 championship) and Big 10 champ. If Clemson and / or WA lose, that would open the door for Ohio State or maybe OK / OK State winner. Seems hard to imagine MI getting in ahead of Big 10 champ and Ohio State and no way Big 10 gets 3 out of 4 spots.

Alabama is in win or loss in SEC championship. Clemson and Washington will be favorites in their championship games, they follow through and they are in.
Now if Penn St beats Wisconsin...I would think they have the get in with their win over Ohio St and Big10 championship...or does the committee screw them and still put in Ohio St. Penn St loses and it is easy, Ohio St is in the playoff. |

Thoughts on Texas and LSU head coaching hires?
LSU hiring Orgeron reminds me of Miami hiring Coker and then Shannon...

The non-firing of Les last year was a joke and he had a year to get some candidates lined up. Instead Alleva was locked in on Jimbo who wasn't going to leave FSU and then plan B (Herman) wanted the Texas job from the get go. That left Coach O... Will be an interesting year or two seeing how the hire works out.

Washington will be in with a convincing win. Wisconsin/PSU has an outside shot IF Washington or Clemson loses AND one of them spanks the other. Michigan is in otherwise if Big Ten Championship game is a brawl and Washington and/or Clemson loses. Remember, the committee is NOT tasked with putting in the top 4 conference champions. They're tasked with putting in the top 4 teams, period. Conference championship and head-to-head ONLY comes in play if they deem two teams as relatively comparable. They've already deemed Ohio State a level above any Big Ten team. They're in. So again, thanks Big Ten for this money grab of a farce championship game. Buckeye fans loves to sit back and watch everyone else beat up on each other while we book our accommodations to Tempe this weekend.

My problem is that how can you put Ohio state over penn state if Penn state wins their division and beat Ohio state.... Heads will roll.

It comes down to who should rep the Big10.. OSU or PSU or both
If both then it sets up a potential rematch which I'd love to see but that would likely eject Washington.. I think PSU should represent the Big10 and OSU should sit.. only because once again we see that this system is still FLAWED and that an 8 team playoff is needed and the PAC10 conference champ should also be represented.. I mean whats the point of winning conferences if popularity then overrides those major conference wins? |
