Dating - Good/Bad Experiences

Create an account on Indeed, create a resume and upload it . You will receive jobs offers. Only negative is that job recruiting agencies will contact you and sometimes have no clue what your job description is lol

Keep the current job and commute to see her on the weekends for 6 months, if possible. There are great direct flights between FL and NYC.

Keep yourself as stable as possible as she adjusts. I don't believe in following anyone until everything is settled, i.e., marriage. Just my .02. No matter what decision you make, I wish you and your intended the best of success.

Even though I said you should be able to find something in NYC I wholeheartedly agree with this decision BUT prior experience dictates me to say long distance never works bc you can only do so much through FaceTime

Let's be realistic, even if you were married things can change and I don't think you'd be any better off if the worst happens and you're left by yourself in a completely new city...

I tried long distance when I first moved to FL. I was with the girl for 3 years prior to my move, and we broke up just a few months after. I am certainly not willing to risk my relationship for my job; I did that once and learned my lesson.

Besides, I wouldn't want to do the commute. I would rather take a loss in pay, and be there with her and my family, then continue at this job and have to stress about my relationship.

I agree. Plus I don't think she would be very happy to have to navigate NYC by herself, especially coming from a foreign country. Since I know NYC well, she would want me by her side.

UPDATE:

Man, I must have some serious karma points. She told me today that she was just accepted into a local school. She didn't tell me she applied, as she didn't want to get my hopes up about staying until she knew. Well, she was accepted into an MFA program about 30 mins from our house!

While the school is not quite as good as the one in NYC, it gives us the option to stay here for my job, and allows her to stay in the country.

We have some serious decisions to make over the next few weeks/months, but last week I was concerned we had no options, now we have multiple -- a truly fantastic turn of events.

on monday she surprised me by bringing strategy games and cookies to my place, and asked if i could teach her parallel parking on saturday after we go shopping

It's the same, I can't blame my actions on the thread. I do wish I didn't listen to you guys on this incident though won't lie

It was up to me to make the conscious decision of ghost/not ghost, and I clearly made the wrong decision but it wouldn't be right of me to blame it on you guys.

Update: Today is the day I start being way less available. I'm taking a short one week vacation to kick things off. I fly out tonight and I won't be available to do much for the foreseeable future.

We'll see what happens. Wish me luck or not.
