Eminem also has deep lyrics about vomitting mom's spaghetti.

As for the turn of events today... I don't even know what to say. I'm pretty sure she's confused, you're confused and I'm confused.
Whatever, you're young, have fun, don't hurt anybody's feelings and don't get her pregnant.

Yes, but I don't think it was about the quality of the spaghetti. I think he was trying to juxtapose the façade we put forth to others with our true emotions.

See? Deep. On a level you aren't getting.

Sounds like you just put more thought into his lyrics than he does when he writes them.

I imagine his thought process is as follows:
- Does it rhyme?
- Is it offensive?
- Is Dre going to bitch slap me like Dee Barnes

you guys are right, and that's that i can't say much about it.
my long rant last night was due to stimulants because midterm

on better news though, my midterm went well. i've also dedicated today as a "get back on my own legs" day, and so far so good! I've done a lot and cleared my to-do list greatly but still a long way to go!

UPDATE:

Last week I posted here asking for some advice on my situation with my foreign girlfriend and having her stay in the country. Thank you to all who took the time to give me advice.

Today, we just found out she has been accepted into a fantastic MFA program at a college in New York City, which allows her to stay in the USA for another 2 years! Now we can continue to build our relationship without the added pressure of marriage.

I grew up in NYC and my father still lives there. It would be nice to be close to him, as moving back has been a dream of mine for a while. However, this opens up a whole new world of problems since I am 22, college dropout, and managed to get into a 6 figure/year job here in Florida... Moving to New York without a degree of my own, it may be extremely difficult to find a job comparable to what I am making now. I have done it once before, I welcome the challenge, and I look forward to whats to come.

Best,

Gatsby

This is great news! Life somehow has a way of creating opportunities and pushing you in the direction you need to go. You say "problems", I see opportunities for growth.

I'll agree with this. From someone who used to sit on the other side of the desk during interviews, experience trumps a degree when it comes to matters of a 6 figure job. If I'm paying you 6 figures a year, I could care less if you have a degree; what I do care about is whether or not you can competently handle the required responsibilities. Jobs that pay what you make don't come easy, but this is a huge bargaining chip and will make prospective employers look at you a little differently from someone who simply has a degree with no experience. Good luck, thanks for keeping us updated and let us know how this progresses.

And I have to believe the job market in NYC has a hell of a lot more opportunities than the bikini state. Only downside is cost of living NYC vs FL.
Good luck!

I am in the loan/debt side of finance currently. I made my company a fuck ton of money last year, so my plan was to bring the revenue statement to my next interview in lieu of a degree.

I personally would rather see something like this than a degree handed to me during an interview. Show me proof of what you are capable of instead of the same old piece of paper that you managed to accumulate personal debt and attended classes for X years.

The main challenge is getting the interview. Get me in the room and I will make it happen, but without a degree on my resume, it will be a lot tougher to get that first contact.

THIS. I'm trying to hire, and a few resumes had some experience, but HR said they didn't meet minimum quals so I couldn't even talk to the candidate

Although, right now I basically need someone who can fog a mirror repeatedly. . .

Good luck!

Not quite the same, but last year I took in a coop student, but it was her experience that made me interested, not the fact that she was enrolled in college. Just happened to be where I found her.

This Friday I'm meeting with her and may offer her a full time job because I know she can do what I need done. Her college degree means nothing to me. So there are employers out there who will give you a chance too.

Might take a little cold calling if you can find the info if you find HR isn't giving you a chance to get in the door though.

Networking is the key. I worked in Real Estate previously, built a strong relationship with one of my clients. He offered me an interview at his company -- the company I am currently at, and the rest is history.

It won't be easy, but I am up for the challenge.
