Just a quickie from today. I got this just before the downpour started. I'm not entirely done with it as I think it's a little washed out looking, but good enough for now. I think it's ingenious how they manage to keep all the people gathered around Stonehenge mostly out of the way of photographers. I just shot this over the fence and there were hundreds of people inside walking around the path.

I played with a Lensbaby Conductor Pro with the Sweet 35mm optic. It's pretty interesting; definitely something different. I'm glad I was able to do metering on my camera with it.

Doe interacts with magpie:

Mr. Magpie, why did you peck me on the head? by dcstep, on Flickr

Before I could get the car stopped the magpie pecked the doe on her head. This is before dawn and shot at ISO 6400. 700mm hand held at 1/400-sec.

Dave, did you smoothen it or apply a lot of noise reduction in the pic?

In DxO, I moved the Chrominance slider up to around 50 and kept the Luminance down around 10. (I don't mind grain - luminance - but red pixels - Chrominance - drive me crazy).

Nice shot, Dave. I keep looking at it waiting for the deer's tongue to dart out and snag the magpie.

And what does that slider do?

No, I wouldn't stick my big toe in that water. It didn't smell very good and the pool is lined with lead, so I'd imagine it's not the healthiest thing to submerse yourself in. Hell, I don't even like normal swimming pools.
