Also, how bout that Spain GP? AMG Petronas can suck it.

How can you have the most dominant car in F1 history and combine it with the most ridiculous strategy, driver treatment, and general ham-fistedness ever witnessed in the sport? This is starting to go beyond the McLaren debacles of 2004-2013. I was a guest of the team for the German GP at Hockenheimring a few years back and was thoroughly impressed with the operation of he team. Ross Brawn. I met The Rat, Nico, MSC, and a host of team members who knew what they were about. They formed the foundation to the success that is being achieved today.

I have no idea what is going on now.

Let me stop before I have an aneurism.

AMG-Petronas F1 -

Get your crap together.
I could not believe that when I saw it. I think Hamilton got greedy thinking he was going to pass Rosberg.

But on the other hand, Verstappen killed it out there.

Yeah - by a couple weeks actually. And it is scheduled to complete production on my birthday, so that would be somewhat interesting... same born on date.

Sweet!! It's like you blessed this world with your presence and then boom, 84 years later, you got a cool car that was born on the same day.

What would be the age gap between your birth and the birth of your new mistress?

Oh btw pops' Mr Tonka MKSixer jtodd_fl I met up with Matt (rug biz owner) this past Thursday and that's gotta have been some of the best sushi I've ever had. Of course I felt like crap not even 30 minutes later LOL, damn this nutritional tolerance I haven't developed.

And yeah, basically didn't go over any of the questions other than how the business came about and changing the flooring in my house for my basement home gym conversion, and getting me a good deal on it.

He is definitely an honorable entrepreneur though, MKSixer, his grandfathers migrated to North America from the middle east and started out as door to door salesmen, importing high end Persian rugs to sell for high prices and eventually acquiring enough momentum to purchase a warehouse and outsource through varying companies. But he was pretty impressed with the questions and said exactly what you'd said about needing to schedule multiple sessions LOL.

He also let me know that the website is under construction, which is a good thing because it looked a bit...grandfathered.

I just couldn't convince my son that a '66 Beetle would be good, so we went with the '77. Something about electricity, stereos, and charging a phone?

This was a good lesson though, in and of itself. This is how "interviews" go. You rarely get through a list of questions. What you need to really have (informally) are a set of things you want to know... a set of conversation starters... and practice something called "bridging".

Again, this link is HUGELY oversimplifying the matter and makes it seem very self-serving, but both sides benefit from a well-structured conversation. It is not really most productively used to "control" or manipulate a conversation. It is best used to focus one on the outcomes that are best for both parties. Still, this is useful. http://www.cornerstone-ct.com/controlling-conversation/

Most people are unable to have a meaningful conversation beyond a few minutes and it is hard to keep people on point with complex issues. It is a VERY valuable skill.

Yeah, I actually didn't feel bad about not getting to the questions though because MKSixer was right about it creating overload, I was actually just glad to have the company and allow the topics and tangents to take their course, especially since the questions were more like something I just brought along as opposed to a predetermined topic of conversation.

Thanks #salesdad. Am gon readit nao.

EDIT: Actually, you're all technically one form or another of #salesdad. Okay.

Nice. Seems to be a popular way to get into the business. My father started this company in 72 with $500. He would go door to door selling carpet. He'd require a 50% deposit which he used to buy the carpet and pad. Collect the balance upon completion and rinse and repeat.

My father worked in a factory at night and department store sales in the day time to earn enough money to buy 60's era 911s. First one he bought cost $6500. His factory job wasn't paying enough to cover the insurance, so he got a job going door to door setting up appointments for carpet salesmen. Paid $5/hour and only 2 hours an evening for 5 days a week earned more than enough to pay his insurance premiums which was something like $100 annually.

Met my mother who had 3 kids at the time, moved to FL, started slinging rug out on the streets. Was back in a new Porsche by 1977. He's a pretty confident guy.

That's so inspiring. Definitely explains your great foundation in business ethics and direction that you've acquired and exude. I always love stuff like that, the effective waterfall of tendencies and best practices that continue to promote prosperity throughout the generations.

Porsche love all around, eh?
