Grabbed some Glenfarclas 10 and 12 that were steeply discounted to go along with my Illusione MJ12.

Recommend the 12 over the 10, quite the difference and the 12 was pretty good. The cigar was great, as I expect from Illusione.

In a blind taste test, I actually prefer Weller Antique to Old Rip 10.

Haven't had the opportunity to try Weller 12, yet. Pappy is nothing but hype-train, regardless. There are better bourbons out there for way, WAY less money.

that's the great thing about whiskey: everyone's palate is different. i've told plenty of friends who want to get into drinking whiskey, "start cheap and work your way up. the best thing that can happen to you is that you fall in love with a $30 whiskey."

Yeah I have that one as well, its good but probably not one of my favorites. It is a good daily drinker (which I happen to have a lot of now).

hmmm...all the "regular" knob creek is 100 proof (both the bourbon and the rye)...it's one of the things that makes it among my favorite everyday bottles.

Oh right sorry my bad, have knob in decanter so cant look at bottle. I have makers and knob in them as my regular daily booze.

you had me worried!! the last time i bought it, costco had a rebate going so i bought 4 bottles at like $25...so i havent actually looked at a new bottle on the shelf in a few months. i thought maybe they had decided to cut it!! thank goodness they didnt cut it...because it's still a really good value, even if after they pulled the 9-year age statement.
