My point was fore grip belongs on a tactical run and gun ar usually not one shooting out to further distances.it's an identity crisis like a glock with a bipod.

in my experience the most comfortable iwb is crossbreed, alien gear is about 80% of the comfort for less money, and i have tried them, but i keep coming back to crossbreed i carry a 1911 commander almost always in mine |

I have an xdm and a milt sparks versamax2 iwb. That ive carried that way exactly never. issue is that compared to my 1911 these types of stRiker fire guns feel like a brick. It's the thickness that is the issue being 1.25 thick instead of say .9 for a 1911.

Is your 1911 single stack? I use to carry single stack but hated carry an extra magazine. I just did not feel confortable carrying with a single magazine with 6+1 in the chamber. Just not enough rounds.

Standard 1911 is 7+1 and I carry wilson combat 8 +1 mag in single stack sa PRO, along with usually 1 extra 8 in a snag mag in left front pocket. If wearing coat or some of my pants have extra pocket will carry 2-3 spares.

lol, I know the feeling. My personal plan is to sell some guns to upgrade my collection. For instance, I have a MAC-11 that has no purpose at all; anything it can do, my Glock can do better. It's only value (if you want to call it that) is the Hollywood factor, because lord knows it ain't worth a shit for actual shooting. And I have a major itch for the Mossberg Shockwave... but I already have a Mossberg Persuader as well as a tacticooled Remington 870. If I sell the Persuader, I can justify to myself getting the Shockwave to replace it And I have multiple ARs, but I want one in a ludicrous caliber I don't need like .458 SOCOM. |

Those shockwave and tac 14 or whatever are an oddity and just a fad also. I have an 870 set up for tactical work and resist getting the small version or any of those mag fed monstrosities.

I took my first deer with my .458 a couple weeks ago. I am very satisfied with its performance. With the right build it is highly accurate out to 200yrds and delivers one hell of a punch with Barnes TacX bullets.

Today I finally made time to break in the new rifle up at Cherry Ridge range in north Jersey. I followed JP's recommended break in procedure for the barrel (solvent-JB Compound-light solvent @ 10, 30, 50, and 70 rounds) while I adjusted the gas block and temporary sights. Shot without a hiccup once I set the gas. Super smooth action, and shoots really flat with the Federal 55g .223 I was using. Love the Elf trigger... Definitely filling the bill as my range gun. Looking forward to tearing it down and making sure everything is still tight and working correctly.

Just got her cleaned up and need to get to the range. But I just picked up a Walther Q5 Match with a Vortex Venom 6 moa red dot. Trigger, grip and act feel good! Thanks for the earlier words of advice.

After reading reviews on cheap drop-ins, I keep coming back to the Elf but can't decide on flat or curved. Wish their curved trigger wasn't so pronounced; would make it the best of both worlds.
How's the repeatability/consistency when it comes to landing the pad of your finger on the "natural" rest of the trigger itself? |
