Still the water pump from back in December, I just left it for the winter since I didn't feel like fixing it and it wasn't going to be driven anyway.

I'm finally getting around to considering ordering parts, so the cost and unavailability is making me reconsider the car. I'm not baller enough to stomach blowing this kind of money on repairs constantly.

How much is the damned water pump?

At about 50,120 miles on my 2001 M3 the car began to over heat in traffic. I got it over and off the road as steam started to escape from under the hood. Got the hood up and saw that the belt was shredded due to the water pump pulling sheering off. Turns out it warped all the other pulleys, punctured the radiator and of course the water pump needed replacing. $2000 later i realized i was never going to own an M3 out of warranty again. But yet i did with the E92 M3 and got lucky with that one.

Yeah, honestly, that one was reason I veered away from getting a 135i. Heard about HPFP, water pump, and some turbo issues and how much everyone was paying in repairs. N/A straight six has been solid so far.

How much are you going to have to dump on the WP?

I love the car, but I think the only way I'd own another one is under warranty. I kinda wish I had a NA car too, it's plenty quick enough even when it goes into limp mode.

Like Verbiage said, cheapest option was ~$350, but is sold out everywhere. Next best is ~$400, with thermostat @ $50.

I also want to do injectors this summer, since I have one that is really noisy and I don't want to have it leak (if it isn't already) and trash my bottom end by thinning the oil. Cheapest option is also sold out, so that's a minimum 3x $140 to replace bank 1, plus coding, etc.

Still on original HPFP and coils, could definitely use blasting the intake ports... it never ends.

Sounds like first gen N54. Those things can have problems with engine related stuff.
