Got to the range for the first time in a while yesterday. I brought the TRP Operator, CZ P01, my beloved Buckmark, and what was my favorite Glock, the G26.
I used to carry and shoot the G26 often, I fell out of love with Glocks a few years ago but I always thought the G26 could bring me back. After sending 50 rounds through my ol' friend I can confidently say I will never buy another Glock, and I may never shoot another one of my Glocks for pleasure. I'll still keep one with a light/laser in the bedside safe, I will freely admit that they are very reliable and plenty accurate. They are just an ergonomic disaster with a creepy spongy mess of a trigger and a frame that sends a nasty vibration through your hand with every time you have the misfortune of pressing the trigger. |

The 1911 is a gun you show off to your friends,
The Glock is a gun you show your enemies. When the shit hits the fan I want something that works. I have many guns but when I hear an odd noise at night I am usually checking things out with an AR in hand and a Glock as the back up. Both have a lasermax light/laser combo. How come no one ever seems to have weapon lights on their AR's? |

Keep a set of electronic ear muffs with them. Turn them way up and you can hear better. Make sure they don't have light that gives away your position. I have both Walker and Caldwell. I prefer the Caldwell's for comfort but they have a little light I had to put tape over. The Walker ones go louder but have more distortion at the limit.
Shotgun versus AR. Really depends on your personal situation. Early this year we sold the city house and I retired to the farm on 24 acres. The coyotes have figured out the range on the shotguns. This is also affected by ammo choice. Shotgun slug will go through a lot of drywall/siding. |
