Last week's motorweek showed the upcoming 2018 X3, and the model with the 4.0 with M sport which also has the M badge next to the 4.0.

Msport is not an ///M, but BMW uses it to get people to think it is. They are getting to the point where they put some sort of M badge on every damn thing.

Whomever this belongs to has enough integrity not to remove the 318i after the M badge, but is really pushing everything else -- including the fake side vents (hell, BMW does it, why not him?!)

Not sure that's a 550i either - some of them can walk stock M5 - which is well known. Probably the only non M cars (those with n63tu engines) that I can see be faster than some M cars but pink is hideous

The 2017 550i is quicker 0-60 than the prior model M5. Maybe I'm missing something, but that thing sure didn't look like an F90 when I took the pictures.

I meant with a tune (just a tune nothing else) n63tu is capable of very high numbers even on Stage 1. Heck I have a x5 with n63tu Stage 1 and I have 640awtq and 0-60 in 3.8 sec (faster than current M3) and I weight 5200lbs lol (I'm assuming a much lighter 550i can do even better), tho 2008 550i has n62 engine which is not ice to begin with

Saw an M550 on the road today. Thought it was fake although trunk badge looked legit. Looking on CarMax there are many listed. So what’s diff between M5 and M550?

The M5 is a true Motorsport division car. The M550 is a 550i with a trim package, sort of like Audi's "S Line" A6 versus the S6.

Yes, but I think Audi puts the S line badging on the side front fender, not on the trunk lid. An A4 with S line is still badged as an A4.

I think BMW putting the M badge on the trunk lid for M sport is going overboard.

Now instead of M-Sport trim, which has been mostly cosmetic changes, BMW now has M###i models for cars with power and suspension upgrades. So there actually will be a 550i M-Sport model as well
