Yes the demise of AMR is pretty shocking.
When AMR came out with that RB copy and was beating everyone else (except RB) I thought they were gonna be the one to challenge RB, possibly giving Alonso another WDC, but that seems a long way now.

No one really knows the importance of Newey. Newey leaves RB and progress halts. Newey doesn't design the car alone (I think he hardly does any of the hands on designing, I doubt he even knows how the current leading CFD software works....), but writing things off as a coincidence is another way of saying you don't understand things

If PIA gets in front of NOR, and that endures the race....I think we'll see some teamorders despite what Brown has said..
This race can be the turningpoint in a potential WDC for NOR now that Max is so far down the grid. Here they can undo their mistake at the Hungaroring.

And to a certain point I also believe NOR deserves those teamorders.
NOR stayed at McLaren when they were very low on the grid. I think he could've easily gone to other teams that were potentially better or equally good then, but I think he said that he believed in McLaren's future path despite losing more and more each race (that was I believe '22 and early '23).
In fact, there will be team orders from the beginning. Lando can't overheat his tyres and just gently warm up his tyres to avoid graining, so PIA has to stay behind Lando for a few laps and fend off the others.
He won't be allowed to overtake Lando the first few laps.

Max will be OK too. That's not an argument for laughing and not getting it.

The driver that was least ok with not winning a WDC was.....Hammy in '21. He didn't even attend the ceremonial gala as butthurt as he was. Rather strange the runner up being absent.
Whereas SAI was the real victim of the partial backmarkers letting through in abu dhabi. And he didn't even protest.
