Project 'HYDRA'
Wow did'nt know there was a tech geek subforum here! Just upgraded from a 6700k to a 9700k. Managed to get it to 5.0Ghz stable at 1.34V. Been flawless running max settings at 3440x140 at 120Hz. Battlefield 5 runs absolutely sublime!

I've gone through multiple iterations, but here are the last 2 setups I've done.
ASUS ROG 21:9 3440x1440 100Hz monitor NZXT Manta ITX Intel I5-7600K GTX 1080Ti FE NZXT AIO Samsung SATA SSD 16 GB Corsair DDR4 2400 MHz EVGA 800W PSU PS4 Glacier White (recently upgraded to white PS4 Pro) I initially went crazy with the desk/armchair/RGB thing, but then I needed the bedroom to actually be used as a bedroom so I moved to a wallmounted setup with a power recliner in a little nook in the house and wireless peripherals. Have not looked back - it's so comfortable. |

I've used MSI for the longest time for GPUs I think they are great! Asus in my country is a rip off so MSI was the next best choice.

Sounds a bit like enormous energy consumption...no?

Good thing about MSI is that they give you 2 generations of upgrades. I'm going to be using my last upgrade from 1080 to the 2080 on my dominator. The MSI afterburner overclocking is not bad also. |

Now I can move my desktop on my Sim Rig to a desk and just set the laptop there when I do sim racing which is another added bonus.

Just found this thread and am at work without access to any images. I have a few setups that are worthy. I haven't upgraded components in a minute but have four different builds. All have Asus Rampage Motherboards, three have two Titan X Pascals and the 4th still has 4x 980Ti. I will have to replace those 980Tis with whatever the next RTX Titan is. Still doing fine with my 6950X and 5960X x3.

So now nvidia is releasing the new RXT 3080 in June 2020. I feel like the screwing over part is getting excessive now.
My 2080 was the latest only for a couple months until the super release and now this. |

Nice thread! You guys are going to get me back into watercooling....I had a couple of watercooled gtx980sc's on a gigabyte motherboard and an eight core AMD processor with eight gig of ram - seven or eight years ago.
Now I have a i7 7700k, 16 gig of DDR4, 1TB samsung 970 evo m.2 SSD working with a rx580 on an Asus Prime z270-a motherboard. But it's air cooled. With nothing overclocked it scored a 7131 Passmark rating, which is in the 99th percentile.

Bought an ASUS PG35VQ a couple weeks back at MicroCenter as they have them for $2,300. I never thought I'd say it, but it's worth every penny. You have to see 3440x1440 maxed out with full HDR at 144hz to appreciate it. Unreal!
I have a pair of 2080ti's to run it which is about the minimum, can't wait for some better cards in the future to be able to take even better advantage of the monitor. |
