Import your car from Holland / Germany
Buying a beemer in Germany can be with a privat person, or a company (for example www.bmw.de).
If you buy the car from a company (not a privat owner!!!!!), you can get 19% VAT back from the German Government. Car = 30.000 euro VAT = 19/119 x 30.000,- = 4.790 euro Nett-price = 25.210 euro Before you can arrange the export, the car must been checked bij the TüV organisation in Germany. Every part thats isn't good anymore, must be changed, altered or repaired. The costs of this TüV-checkup is about 300 euro...and of course the 'maybe'-extra costs for repairment etc. If the car is manufactured IN Amerika, you can claim 10% import discount with the German Government on the Nett-price. This 10% will then be (together with the VAT) refunded to you. Nett-price = 25.210 euro Import discount = 10/110 = 2.292 euro Nett-nett-price = 22.918 euro Hope that this item will help you if you consider an importcar from Germany. It's near impossible to import a euromarket bimmer or other car into the US. If it's <25 years you're ok, but its almost always easier and cheaper to just sell it and buy another over here. Good info though for somebody maybe wanting to import maybe an American car from Ger.
