Reminds me so much of Enron, just before they fell. I hope Google's fundamentals are more legit.

I'd guarantee most of what they spend on those "perks" is made up for by added productivity. How much do you get done in the office on a normal miserable Monday when you're tired of the weekend and just want to get the hell out of the office?
Look at all those miserable employees. Studies have always shown that happy people make more productive employees. Good sh*t .I was I was the doctor working there. |

I did a research paper on the organizational structure of Google last semester. I didn't watch the video but the perks there are definitely impressive, they recoup alot of the expenses through added productivity though. However, the hiring process can be total hell, 7+ face-to-face interviews was the norm for a long time. They streamlined it somewhat, but it is still very rigorous and lengthy.

I had a friend that applied to google. Qualifications - received a full ride to an ivy league school but didn't take it because the local college offered her money to attend for undergrad and eventually masters, and then a doctorate which she didn't take due to a job offer from MS (graduated summa cum laude). She applied to google, but didn't make it in as smart as she was.
