Hey Guys,
I'm sure most of you have seen the news. I am from Haiti and moved here at ~12 and haven't been back since 06. Most of my family is in Haiti. If its not too much please share the link below as much as you can. Even if only a little, thats what i can do to help those that are there. Still no news from my family... Learn how to donate $5 by following the link : http://www.iheartauto.com/blog/?p=609 Thanks for looking. |

Hope you hear something soon. It would be interesting to hear you opinion on if you think the media should be given some finite period of time there before they are proctored to leave. It isn't likely a reduction on the already limited resources by their presence there. I understand an initial effort of raising awareness is important, but it should also be done from afar where possible.
PS, I gave 40 yesterday to the Redcross. Others please help with $ where possible.

Honestly the Media is only interested in what sells, to an extent i understand where you are coming from. People should/need to know whats going on, but its also like a gold mine for them. So it goes hand in hand... Haiti is truly a beautiful place but has been on the decline for many years. At one time Haiti was the "Pearl of the Caribbean", you could leave your front door wide open anywhere on the island with no worries. But those stories don't sell. Haitians are strong people but haven't made the best choices as of late. We will bounce back but who knows when and how long it will take. Right now i am only interested in everyone's well being, the other stuff comes after. Houses, buildings and things can be rebuilt/re bought, once a life is gone it is gone for good... Thanks again. I truly appreciate it. |

Text "Haiti" to 90999 to donate. 100% of your $10 donation passes thru to @RedCross for Haiti relief. Your cell carrier keeps nothing. Or you can donate online at https://american.redcross.org/site/D...30gmvb.app197b You can also text YELE to 501501 to donate $5. Or donate to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund online here https://co.clickandpledge.com/advanc...aspx?wid=23093 Partners in Health is doing donations online: https://donate.pih.org/page/contribu...=email113donor

red cross care doctors without borders unicef ............. i just found out my parents are ok, it was a tough 48 hours to wait for that phone call. my first concern is for the unknown number of people buried beneath the THOUSANDS of buildings that have crumbled. second concern is feeding and providing water. then providing shelter. medicine. cleanup. reconstruction. it's sad to see my home country FUBAR. |
