Looks fun. They have demo stations at quite a few gamestops. I didn't try it, but the controller setup looks pretty cool.

i guess you never played guitar hero?

yeah that video is my hands spinning 1 & 2.

darkman, video games are for FUN they are not supposed to be teaching tools. i can play a REAL guitar and i can tell you aside from the look of the plastic guitar hero guitar it is NOT like playing a guitar at all. i guess you didn't realize guitars have strings not 5 buttons. you need to relax and enjoy video games for fun factor not realistic factor you wanna be DJ.

+1 I remember when guitar hero came out, all the guitarists said the same thing. These are video games and are not supposed to simulate the real thing. Playing a guitar or DJing takes years to master. Video games are supposed to be enjoyable the instant you play. If this game was supposed to simulate real DJing, no one would want to play it (except for maybe real DJs).

I did. If you are into music games, it's pretty awesome. It's so much more complex than Guitar hero/rock band. But as someone who plays rockband/guitar hero on expert, I got up to speed pretty quickly. Been playing DJ Hero on hard because it's a bit boring on anything lower, but some parts of the songs just boggle my mind. Still trying to wrap my head around all the motions involved.

i obviously got it too. what do you think of the hardware? i personally think its a POS. the crossfade is so frustrating since it feels like jello, and the scratching is so awkward of a motion pressing down the blue button. maybe my hand muscles are not used to the motions, but this piece of hardware seeems like it will take a while to master. scratching and fading at the same time is nasty.

i would say for $120 hold off for DJ 2 (or 3). package should have been $90, $99 tops. oh well, with no DJ competition Activision is raping us. and F the renegage for 199.

The cross fader is a bit loose and hard to find the middle balance, but I got used to it. Are you a guitar hero/rock band player? Coming from those games (and being pretty good at the guitar), I was able to pick this game up pretty quickly. A lot of movements did feel awkward, but it's only because it's new. Guitar hero felt very strange to me as well the first time I played it. Just need to put a lot more time into it and things become really natural. I think the hardware is as good if not better than the rockband/guitar hero hardware.

yes i am a rockbank/guitar hero player, not at your level though - expert. i agree newness is a problem, i can't seem to nail all the scratches/zucka zuckas, especially the blue ones. i am not sure if its my timing or not scratching enough on the spinner? not sure if the system is looking for a scratch to go as far as 10:00 and 8:00, or if a slight wiggle is enough? any comments?
