Parking ticket on a rental car? What do I do?

I got a parking ticket (parking in a no parking zone) at Lake Tahoe, Nevada over the July 4th weekend. July 2nd to be exact. This was in a rental car from California.

Have any of you guys had experience with this? Is it possible for me to just ignore it?

I believe that it would be your best interest to pay the ticket since your name is on the rental bill.

yeah it's happened to me before. if you don't pay it, the city or whatever will charge you a penalty, then send a letter to the owner (the rental co) that payment is due. and the rental co will send you a letter saying "you owe the original ticket amount plus the added penalty, but don't worry we'll just charge you on the credit card we have on file"
so it's cheaper just to pay up.

Exactly, I used to work for a Rental Car Company and it's exactly what we did. We'd get a bill from the DMV and then track down who rented the car that day and then charge their credit card with an additional $25 service charge on top.
