BMW G82 M4 Paint scratch repair advice.

Hi,

I wanted to request advice on a paint repair for my G82 BMW M4 Competition in Brooklyn grey.

The damage is on the rear bumber and it’s seems it is actually paint damage. There is also a scratch the gloss black section.

I would like to get its original state rather than just make it less noticeable.

I had the following questions:

1. Would it be best to go to BMW directly or a local body shop?

2. Are there BMW approved body shop? I would need the colour to match exactly.

3. Any recommended method of repair?

The car is still under manufactures warranty for one more year so I would like to avoided voiding the waatnth

I am based in the UK and would appreciate and recommendations. Also if anyone has a rough idea of the cost it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like you have recessed in to something
I would say someone like a local smart repair place would be able to touch the grey in .
The black they might get better but not sure they would get it perfect

I would not even bother with the piano black trim. If it's not a part of the diffuser (which I don't think it is but not 100%) then it's a cheap part.

If you wanted to get the paint done, I would probably just go through the dealership so that the work is covered and any potential damage from bodywork will be their problem. If some small shop screws something up, they'll probably tell you it wasn't them or to f' off.

I'd probably leave that damage alone but I understand if it bothers you. The first scratch always frees you to drive the car the way you want it to instead of always being paranoid.

There's no warranty voiding issues here.

^^^I agree. Just replace the gloss black trim peice.

Regarding the bumper. I would just get an airbrush bumper repair guy to fix that. Those guys (depending on who you use) can match paint very well these days.
