The 820bhp Ferrari 12 Cilindri is named after its mighty 9,500rpm V12 engine
Love what Ferrari is doing these days. Going public has been good for Ferrari and Porsche. Full credit to Top Gear. https://www.topgear.com/car-news/fir...rpm-v12-engine The Italian language is very good – molto bene – at translating ordinary car names into lyrical poetry. ‘Four doors’ becomes ‘Quattroporte’. ‘Red head’ becomes ‘Testarossa’. This new Ferrari ultra-GT is called the 12 Cylinder. But Maranello would prefer you wrapped your lips around their way of talking… and called it the Dodici Cilindri. It’s an on-the-nose celebration of Ferrari’s signature dish: a big V12. A mighty 6.5-litre orchestral instrument, mounted way behind the front axle under a gigantic clamshell ‘cofango’ bonnet designed to showcase the engine bay more dramatically than the 812 Superfast or F12. It shuns turbochargers or any form of hybrid boost, but lighter titanium conrods and forged pistons mean it’s now even revvier. Power matches the wild 812 Competizione’s 820bhp. Maximum torque is 500lb ft at 7,250rpm, but more than three-quarters of that overtaking oomph is on tap from 2,500rpm. The redline’s a heady 9,500rpm – kiss the limiter a couple of times and you’ll find yourself doing 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds, 0-125mph in 7.8 seconds, on your way to over 217mph. No, those aren’t huge leaps over the 812 Superfast. You get the sense Ferrari has decided enough is enough. Its V12 ultra-GT doesn’t need to be any faster. Want warp factor? Buy an SF90, and a barf bag. Here, the chief job was to keep the keystone V12 alive. Last edited by chassis; 05-02-2024 at 10:29 PM.. |

The Daytona 365 style front flip panel appeals though the top fender bulges to accommodate the larger wheels spoil the lines.
..add that hoping the cheese cutter wheels are an option only, just no. Last edited by M5Rick; 05-03-2024 at 07:58 AM.. |

Every new Ferrari over the last 30 years has been beautiful at first sight. You don't have to "get used to it" "it's growing on me". Just a work of art.
And you don't have to have a cheapo ipad for a dash you would expect from a $10k Chinese import. Nothing but cost cutting and brainwashing people into thinking it's a good thing. Ferrari shows exactly how it can be done. At least there's still a couple of car co's that still get it. |

Immediate response is meh but has potential, looks wise. Bravo to them however.
I think it's the wheel choice. Not a fan, at all. Accord'ish. Titanium paint and my mind will shift, I'm sure. F12 is still just right for my tastes. Nice post.

Car looks like a 70s concept vehicle, it's ugly let's be honest. But WHAT an engine, i mean WHAT an engine. No turbo, no batteries just .... engine.

Proportions are perfect.
Engine is perfect. Color is perfect. Front end from door handle to front bumper is very good. Door terminating into quarter panel and curves over rear wheel not so good. Wheels meh. Overall: a stunner. |

I think it's a good looking car.
Definately a different, more retro vibe with the daytona inspired looks than it's predecessors 812 and F12. And a bit in line with the Roma, a design I also really really like (one of the best in this millennium imho).

They are obviously trying to channel the old Daytona...which is a longshot for a viable design IMO. Retro-crap usually ends up as crap with some rare exceptions.

What an ungainly looking thing. It may not be the prettiest girl at the dance, but I bet she's a performer.

Saw a 12 Cilindri in the wild today. Proportions and shape look great - 365 GTB Daytona inspired and nice argento color. Not a fan of piano black exterior trim which plagues the industry at the moment.

They’ll paint it however you want if you pay them enough money. It’s probably a carbon option too for another absurd amount of money.
