Wheel & Tire Package, Tire Swap?
I just bought a ‘24 M240xi with the 791M wheel + all season runflats with the wheel and tire package.
Frankly, the road noise from the pirelli run flats are pretty horrible imo. I want to switch them out for something like the Bridgestone Potenza Sport All-Seasons (can’t do Michelin pilot sports because I don’t think they come in 225 size). If I swap my tires will the W&T package still cover them? If not the Bridgestones then what would be covered that aren’t runflats and will fit the 225 791M wheels? Thanks! |

I did not have a wheel and tire package. Nor have I ever had enough damage to either to justify the price. You may consider just cancelling the package.

Yes. The wheel and tire package can be canceled after taking delivery of your car. See the link below.

Could always drive to the tire shop or the dealership for the fix. Some were runflats, some not. Only one blow out (where the mobility kit would not be able to work - no other flats). I tried to get cute and do a U-turn in some road construction - tire went to zero air pressure in about a second. BMW Assist got me a tow - I was only 2 miles from my dealership. Flats are always a possibility, and once in 170,000 miles keeps it in the back of my mind, but I'm not really concerned about it. I never get tire insurance. |

W&T packages covers whatever is on the car! That is what was explained to me because I had wanted to put winter's on during the snow season!
For what it's worth, 2 tires and 1 wheel fixed due to potholes ... Made it worth it in my book! Good Luck! |

A few years back with my 2018 JCW a front tire (run flat) developed a sidewall bubble/bulge (this after a pothole encounter). Drove this car 10 miles to the dealer and the front tires replaced. Both because of the difference in tread depth between the new tire and the old tire. And also a few years back in my Hellcat got a low tire warning. Pulled into a parking lot and long story short used the tire repair kit to "fix" the tire. But while I waiting on the air compressor to inflate the tire -- with tire goop in it -- I was on the phone to a nearby dealer and bought two new rear tires. As soon as the tire was inflated I threw the tire repair kit into the trunk and drove the car to the dealer and had the rear tires replaced. Frankly for a daily driver - which the JCW and 230ix were -- I prefer run flats for peace of mind. Same with the two 230s I have owned (230i and 230ix). The 230ix is gone and I'm using my M2 as my daily driver. It has high performance (Michelin) tires. Not sure if it has a tire repair kit. Guess I had better check. If it doesn't I'll get one for it. |
