Mirror cap replacment issue

Hi everyone,
I was changing my plain mirrors on my 2021 bmw x1 to an oem black style mirror cap. The process went fine until I put my mirror glass back on. My mirror glass appears to not fully be in and and can be tilted with my hand. I’ve tried taking it out and putting back in other ways but it’s all the same result. Is it fine to leave my mirrors like this or if you know how to fix them please let me know
Thanks

No, it’s not fine. The mirror glass can completely fall out if you hit a bump if it’s not fully secured. I suspect your retaining lugs aren’t aligned or some are broken..

You might want to post your question on the X1 forum, this is the E9x forum.

This is the General (common) Cosmetic forum… not model-specific.

And BMW’s external power mirror mounting is pretty common across models, no?

Visionaut what resource are you using in your post? Does it give detailed instructions for replacing an airbag or seatbelt in a specific car model seat? I want to replace mine over the winter and I want to find instructions to give me some assistance.

Couldn't you just google, "f32 airbag replacement?"

Sorry for hijacking this thread.

I have tried a number of searches, but the challenge is the seat in the convertible is different. I also want to replace the seatbelt. It is dirty and doesn't retract very well. I am going to have to remove the seat and open the back of it to access everything. I am sure there is a bit of a procedure after that, and I have not found a video or directions to this point. I was guessing there is a BMW dealer resource that explains everything.

There was a free source for the tech, BMW's TIS, but it is a subscription service now:

Ah, unfortunately there's definitely a lot less F33 support out there. I did find this but not much else that could be helpful. Nothing on disassembly to your point though.
