What I'm understanding is:
BMW changed their CarPlay sales model (at least here in USA): they no longer sell the 20 year subscription ($300). They now sell yearly subscriptions ($80).
So all you need is purchase $80/year and the offer being discussed would make it permanently activated. That is... until they change it again.

Yes, same in UK. But in other parts of Europe it seems to be different like in Sweden. BMW should make a statement!

I bought a 20' M4 last weekend. Here's a part of the order showing Apple Car Play is "free" for 20 years.

Guys did we decide this is an available upgrade on 2016 my?

I agree, Waze is the only reason to have it.

2018 BMW M4  [0.00]
2019 BMW M2 Competi ...  [10.00]
2017 BMW X5M  [0.00]
Just looked at my ConnectedDrive account and the '19 M2 and '17 X5m are both now showing booked for CarPlay without a date. It used to have 3 years for the X5m and 10 for the m2. Both of there have had the fee paid. The '18 M4 shows it as available for £260 and it's never had it paid for. It appears that one off payment for life of vehicle ownership on the UK

Update: as expected it's only free for 2019 and newer vehicles. Hate to be right but even the earlier language was pointing toward it being only free for cars on the subscription plan. The earlier cars were on the "one time activation" plan

BMW responded to my note asking about activation with the following (i obfuscated my vin)

Thank you for your inquiry. Due to the increased number of emails we have been receiving regarding Apple CarPlay, response times have been taking longer than normal. We appreciate your patience.

Recent changes to our Apple Car Play Compatibility offer are such that it will be extended automatically at no additional cost for our customers with a Model Year 2019 or newer vehicle.

After review of your account (VIN WBA4W9C5XJACxxxxx), we see that an Apple CarPlay Compatibility subscription was never purchased for this vehicle. If you would like to add Apple CarPlay Compatibility to your 2018 vehicle, please visit the ConnectedDrive customer portal (www.bmwusa.com/MyBMWConnectedDrive). Once logged in, you will have the option to make a one-time purchase to add Apple CarPlay Compatibility to your vehicle. We thank you again for contacting us.

Good morning fellas
I do have a lot of questions about my BMW 328 I Sportline 2021.
1year ago I bouth it, but during this week year, I was literally busy.
Now I do have I do have quite time so I started discovering the features etc.. I did some coding and followed some Youtubers. Also I purchased BimmerLink and also BimmerCode full version.

Today before I connect the car with ODB, I pressed setting ON BimmerLink before I connect and I got this

My question is if I push this, I will get the CarPlay?
I would really appreciate any kind of information or coding setting anything can you help me to align Align with this my F30.
Thank you
