How to remove damage from bird poop
Parked at my office in the morning and as I’m walking back to my car, I see my car has been assaulted by a bunch of birds that just ate Taco Bell.
I immediately washed the car the second I got home but it was very sunny today and unfortunately I think the acid from the bird poop etched its way into the carbon fiber roof. I’m aware that bird poop can damage paint but I didn’t think it could happen after only a few hours of exposure. Does this look like it can be fixed with polishing? The photos make it seem worse than it actually is; you have to look at the right angle to see it but the surface does not feel smooth at all. |

Don't listen to advice on here, just bring it to a detail shop and see what they can do. Looks like it can be polished out, but who knows. You may want to ppf the roof assuming they are able to fix it.

I've had great luck getting rid of bird poop etching on my car using a heat gun...no polishing or wet sanding required. I posted a vid in the general forum. Mine was on the regular body panels, not CF

If it is fixable and PPF is too expensive, at the very least a ceramic coating will add a little protection. |

Took it to a shop yesterday and they did a test spot and were able to get it out. The photo I posted makes it definitely seem worse than it is.
I decided to just leave the car there and get it ppf’d to avoid any damage in the future. |

Did you just put PPF on the CF roof or the entire car? |

Just curious, how did the shop fixed it? Did they share that info?
