Lexus enthusiasts: what is a good price this 2011 IS F?

For those who are/were in the Lexus community and/or know what this car is, how much would you pay for this unicorn in today's crazy used car market?

Beyond 6-8 years a car is worth what someone will pay for it, so there is no answer that anyone can give you that will help you.

That would be slightly overpriced a stock mint condition one-owner ISF with immaculate service records for that mileage. Based on how this car is setup and modified, I would say max $28-30K.

Even Car Gurus says the car is $18,000 above market price.

I'd ask for more photos of the interior. Those are under gained/contrasty and always a red flag for me.

Are ISFs unicorns now? Or just rare since they weren't overly successful? I remember it being a nice engine but heavy old tech platform with an underwhelming auto trans. Still a cool car but I feel the owner is trying to cash in.

I wouldn't pay that much for it, but reality is, there's not a lot of these in the later years AND with low miles. People drove them because they didn't break. And the economy sucked at that time, so people didn't buy them. That's basically a unicorn car.

overpriced

mileage is way too high for that price. and my guess is the guy is trying to recoupe the money he spent on wheels, exhaust, and headlights, tail lights, spoiler. car has dents and scratches that need to be addressed as well.

I don't know the ISF market but just on the surface that appears to be wildly overpriced for a 14 year old car with 82k miles on it that probably cost $60k brand new.

As a reference point, I sold my 2017 GSF with 50k miles for $62K in April 2022 when it was 5 years old ($90K MSRP for original buyer). The fact that he priced this car at $42K for a 13 year old car is what we call 'crack-pipe pricing'. My old GSF pictured for reference with the desirable color combo.

+1. I loved my ISF and it was an amazing car, but that was over a decade ago.

I absolutely love the 1st gen ISF and it's a amazing machine assuming you get a 2010+ with all the improvements. The 8AT ain't bad either assuming you driven it in Sport mode and manually shift. These cars are as quick or even quicker than the M3s of the same years.

The prices of these cars remains high and always will. A modded and damaged ISF ain't worth this price though. If it was bonestock and lower miles then the price might be realistic. I'd keep looking.

General rule of thumb is research what the trade in value is and start there. But only if -- and this is key -- only if the car is worth owning.

Car must pass a thorough used car check out. And one you give it. You can't rely on a PPI as the quality of these (and the cost!) is all over the map.

Remember price is not fact only an opinion.

And there is always another car.

On a BMW forum I wouldn't expect many folks to know anything about Lexus. This is priced slightly on the high side but is definitely NOT extremely overpriced like some are claiming. the ISF market is in general highly valued. These cars within the 60k-70k ranges are in the low to mid $40k range... so a with 82k miles being for $38k isn't outrageous, especially considering 2011 is the refresh year with a much improved suspension setup than the 2008-2010 models.

If it's in good condition, I'd probably offer low-mid $30k for it and consider $35k a good value.
