WW2 500kg Nazi UXB found in coastal town

Some of Plymouth town was evacuated when the huge bomb was discovered by a man digging extension foundations hitting it with his spade.

This is fascinating. I cannot imagine finding something like that in my yard.

This one I'm watching with interest, that sandbank caught out the 'captain' back in '44, what a doughnut.

Same here and someone had already laid a concrete base for a brick wall partially over the HE gravity bomb.

We were in Belgium last year on a tour. We went to lunch at a farmers house and he showed us his collection of World War 1 hardware that he has plowed up. He also had 3 live shells (stored separately away from the buildings) that he was waiting for the Belgian army to come pick up and dispose. He finds several every year.
