Looking for help on buying Edgar Allan Poe books

I've wanted something that is not a reprint for a long time. I know 1st editions are 5 figures or more these days.

Do I have any reasonable options for finding something of value from Poe that won't cost stupid money or should I give up & buy the $30 Poe collection hardcover off Amazon?

Our local library has used-book sales twice each year which include donations from estates, and other library users. Ours is so big that on-line booksellers flock here for the four-day extravaganza and the organizers have prohibited scanners during the first days of the sale open to sponsoring members, only.

I'm sure you must have something similar locally. The selection is simply overwhelming. And CDs for 50¢, which is why I go!

Buy the collection to read and use. Take the time to find the collectible you are after, but obviously you can’t use that one.

Has a sign that says all books under $39,900, I believe the sign used to say $19,900 so he must've gotten something in that was super rare.

He's got an entire wall of first editions and old books, plus tons of reasonable stuff, my daughter buys cookbooks there all the time.

I'm not really a book collector, but I was given an autographed copy of The Choir Boys when I retired. "Choir practice" was a thing when I was on the job. Anyway, I was very touched by the gift, and out of curiosity I did some research and was surprised to learn that items like that are available and not always ridiculously expensive.

Books came. This one was published by Barse & Hopkins out of NY. I believe in 1884.

I have a book from my childhood as i liked his poems. More 1984 than 1884 but it's cool.

Turns out it was published in 1915. Gotta love sellers that copy & paste other ads (They admitted it to me)
