N53 DME reads wrong value from LP sensor? Voltage?
E61LCI MSD80 N53B30
Anyone knows the voltage to and from low pressure fuel sensor at DME? Mechanical manometer (two different) says 5.9-6.3 bar at idle. DME reports 2.5 bar in both Protool and Inpa. Sensor output voltage 2.99 volt at sensor supply 5.05 V. When turning off engine pressure drops to DME 2.4bar/2.89V manometer says 5.8-6.0 and stays there for an hour and more. Anyone knows what the sensor voltage should be? Is 5.05V from DME the correct voltage? EKP, LPFP, filter/regulator and LP sensor (tried 3 - all the same) are new and ok. With values listed above the EKP get message from DME that pressure is to low, (should be 5.0 bar) so it runs the pump at >85% PWM trying to increase pressure...which in turn gives the max pressure just over 6 bar (pressure regulator in tank) Disconnecting sensor makes DME report 6.5bar - probably max value by design. Driving symtom is that DME shuts off Bank1 due to "too low fuel pressure" which is normally good behaviour but not in my case :-( Replace DME? |

Hi Loopback59,
did you resolve the issue? I am having the similar problem (LPFP PWM ~90 %, fuel pressure reported as 5.9 bar), with the DME reporting 2AAF due to increased PWM. Anyway, the car runs well (in homogenous mode only) and I did notice it only by increased fuel consumption (caused by unavailable stratified and lean burn mode). I tried to replace: fuel pump fuel pressure regulator/filter EKP module LPFP fuel pressure sensor But the issue persists. Any ideas? Thank you. Quote:
