I threw up a $17 Sams Club 4' LED strip today and it's .. fine. Realistically I don't love seeing the individual bulbs and I definitely need 3 more if I'm sticking with this for a while.

Love the hex lights and that's sorta become a goal for the long term, but I have so many projects between now and then. I just wanted something that wasn't going to fall on my new G80 when it arrives.

I tapped my light from the main overhead receptical that powers the garage door opener. I put that through remote-activated wireless switch that I can trigger from a pad stuck to the wall. That'll keep me from needing to reach the stupid chain to turn it on.

I got 5000k LED off Amazon, slightly warmer than the 6000k but still plenty bright.

It's something like 40w for 5000 lumens much better than fluorescent

Regardless of how much your car costs, if you do any work at all in your garage, lighting is important. I've tried several different lights, and none compare to the UFO lights I referenced several posts earlier in this thread. My main part of my garage is 30' x 27' with 12' ceilings. I have five of the UFO lights (35,000 lumens each) and it is like full daylight in the shop and I should never have to replace them if they live up to their advertised life.

I'm a huge fan of these LED tubes. Easy to install, nice bright light.

I also think 5000k is the perfect color temp.

4300k too yellow, 6000k+ too blue.

I don't have a great picture of the lights, but you can see how they look with the door closed and in the reflection. I should probably add some more on the sides but haven't got around to it.
