I was born in Nashville, Tennessee. I grew up in Lubbock, Texas. I lived in Fort Worth for 17 years before I moved to Chicago 11 years ago. I moved to Chicago because I love the city and I was tired of summers that last from April through October. Illinois is a seriously screwed up state and the corruption in the state and the city of Chicago is beyond belief. I’m not always sure moving here was the best decision, but I still love Chicago. It has a lot of really great attributes. I don’t particularly mind the winters and the summers are fabulous! People actually spend large amounts of time outside here in the summer, because the weather is great! Unlike Texas where no one wants to spend too much time outside in the summer because it’s just too hot. You go from your air conditioned house to your air conditioned car to your air conditioned office and try to stay out of the heat as much as possible. There is one month I don’t like in Chicago. April. You’re ready for winter to end and move into spring and April is some weird place in between.

That’s a lot more than you asked for, but I can’t just say I’m from Chicago without mentioning Texas, because in spite of the heat I still love Texas.

Can’t agree with you more. I moved to Chicago 11 years ago, after spending my first 28 years in Ohio. I remember how excited I was to move here at the time, but it’s starting to wear on me. I like the city, but the crime and taxes are making me consider moving elsewhere.

Born and partially raised in Queens, NY. Moved to Houston, TX before starting high school and have been here for over 20 years. Hate the weather but the rest is alright and cost of living is pretty low compared to other places. Mainly stay here because family is nearby.

I went in the Spring not too long ago so dodged the hot muggy weather I hear so much about. Seems like a very practical place to live, but not exciting. But ofc friends and family matter most ultimately.
