Grille question
The three series has a “normal” grille. The four series has the “controversial” grille. Then why does this styling not carry over to the M3? Has this been addressed? The inconsistency is odd to me. Just wondering!

I'm not sure what's "normal" regarding BMW styling anymore; they seem, as a company, more willing to try new design directions, and are comfortable with that as long as sales remain strong (and they do). I guess we'll eventually see design consolidate across larger chunks of the product range in perhaps a more unified manner, but I wouldn't count on it. (For years, it was easy to criticize the styling as overly conservative across the 3/5/7 range.)
As for the M3, I'm guessing they liked the more aggressive look and thought it was appropriate for the M cars; I will say that, although I found it off-putting at first, I have definitely come a long way towards appreciating, even liking, it. We'll see where it heads next, though I won't be surprised if more eyebrows are raised.

I assume that the LCI 3 series will have the 4 series grill. Remember the 4 series came after the 3 series introduction.
