Watch this a few times, you'll see how a driver who doesn't want to cause a collision does it.

And, surprise, surprise, both drivers finished the race.

I didn't see the MAX fans shed a tear for Leclerc when he got sent off track by MAX in Austria. Shouldnt have max left more room there ?

I'm not rattled. Far from it. It's just mind boggling that some folks are living in their own world.

I don't know much, but I know that I can't wait for Russell to show what he can do at Mercedes and what excuses Hamilton and his supporters will start making when Russell starts winning. I wonder if anyone will start taking bets on how many times Hamilton will crash Russell if/when Russell becomes a threat. I mean he's crashed Albon, Verstappen and just about everyone else. Bottas was just never much of a threat.

I hope this ages well.

Also did he suddenly become too old? Last season he was winning, now he's getting beaten by a clearly inferior driver like Verstappen who has never won a thing? Don't buy it.
It's just facts of the sport my friend, age/time waits for no body.

It's an age old argument in any comparison of sporting legends.
Michael Jordan / Kobe / Lebron / etc.

Everyone's prime doesn't line up.

MSC's last WDC was at 35 yrs old.
You'd have to go back 25 years to 1996 when Damon Hill won one (his one and only) at 36. To win a WDC 7 times is no small feat no matter who you are.

Let's wait and see.

You're right, people do get older, but I just don't find the argument very compelling in this case. Hamilton goes from consistently winning with no drop off to all of a sudden dropping off completely? I don't buy that argument. I've always said it's mostly the car, not Hamilton that is the GOAT but get demolished by the experts on this forum when I try to make that argument, just doesn't sit well with them. But now I'm getting, well he's too old, his priorities are different. I feel like when it's Hamilton, there's always an explanation. To me, the explanations just aren't that compelling. I don't know who the GOAT is, too many variables, certainly it is not Verstappen. But this whole Sir 7ewis business is out of control. Just my opinion.

Max is an above average driver in a great car. If you have any doubt, look at his pole positions prior to this season vs this season. Prior to this season he only had 4 pole positions in his career. This season, alone, he's had 6 or 7. That is a very telling statistic.

Contrast this with Lewis in 2009. He had, what was rated by Autosport, the 6th fastest car on the grid. He achieved 4 pole positions and 2 wins in an absolute dog. That is more pole positions than Max had over his 5 year Red Bull Racing career.

And RIC beat him as well in their time at RB. In fact, Max's first win at RBR was managed because RB pitted Daniel, who was substantially ahead of Max, unnecessarily. This was done to GIVE Max the victory.

It's already been proven wrong earlier in his career in a lessor car like MKS mentioned.

Max has achieved less comparatively.

Some levity

For a moment, I thought Hammy was attempting to appeal to the steward’s sympathy given the makeshift neck brace.

Now I’m not so sure....is that a table cloth?

Well...this is only my opinion.
I would say It's a combination of car & driver, if you look at both Lewis & Max's team mate's performance I would say that's pretty much the pace of the cars, the rest is made up by the driver.
