Curbed it :(

I feel so stupid. Fire truck appeared on a narrow street, over steered to the right. Thankfully at parking speed < 5mph. How screwed is my tire? Thinking of going to the shop this weekend. Haven't seen any pressure drop/bubbles so far.

Not sure about the tire. But I've seen much worse on wheels. That can be fixed for $200-$250 by a wheel guy.

Oh man, I'm sorry, that sucks so much. A wheel guy will make the wheel like new for you, and just take it to a tire place to see if the tire needs to be replaced or repaired. Good thing given the car is so new if it needed to be replaced I'm sure you could just do one and not have to worry about tread wear being different

Sorry to see this. I know it's an old thread, but just wanted to let you know that my dad just did that and worse to his X3 m40i. I love that car. He totally curbed it hard. I called his dealer and asked him who they use for wheel repair. Most dealership have local shop that services lots of the area. I found the shop and called them. Turns out the pricing to have BMW take it over there was less than me just going directly to the shop. Plus a got a loaner car. $175 and the wheel is good as new. I mean I can't even tell which wheel it was at this point.

I would say tire is a goner for safety reasons, as above wheel can be fixed

What was the verdict on this, OP? Assume tire shop said to replace the tire? Issues with the sidewalk normally mean a replacement, unless it was shallow enough

Hard to look at, but certainly a reality of driving. I enjoy the parking assistance and multiple cameras to help prevent this

I added parking assist after I drove my father’s X3 M40i. The cameras and overhead view are just amazing.

Tire was okayed, damage was superficial enough. They fixed the rim up for 250$, not noticeable anymore.

Do you have before and after pics? Just curious how well it is fixed. I am glad these wheels are fixable since I am a curb rash magnet
