Good to see after such an horrific accident.

Well done and thank you for posting this.

Indeed it is so great to see Romain in the land of the living....it does not seem possible that he survived an appx 130 mph crash into Armco barriers resulting in a negative 50 G impact....and pierce the Armco and fatefully the survival cell stops at a place that allowed Romain to find his way out of the car....all the while with massive all-engulfing fire.

Once the post-crash report is released, it will be interesting to see if the large CF object that came off of STR's RP caused immediate deflation of the RF tire, or perhaps the object jammed under the car making the steering and braking ineffective.

From memory, GRO made a quick steering wheel input to driver's right - perhaps to distance himself from the car on the left that was just making contact with the wall and perhaps GRO sensed the car would catapult off the wall and hit GRO.

Whether GRO ever competes in F1 again is unknown, or any other formulae.

What we do know is the racing world is thankful he survived....for the sake of his children and wife.

I’ve watched the lead up to the crash over and over, and to me it looks like the traffic in front of GRO was slowing due to the car on the left and instead of braking, GRO saw an opportunity to keep his foot in it and moved quickly to his right to pass the slower traffic, but didn’t see KVY and clipped him as he made the move.

It will be interesting to see the results of the investigation.

Very similar to 2012 Belgium. Swerved to the right and didn’t see another driver there. This time there was no hesitation in his swerve though.

Super pleased that Romain survived so miraculously well.
Always one of my favourite drivers...maybe never the outright quickest but he has a lovely warm personality which more than makes up.

It's fair to say then that GRO did a panic move without looking quickly in mirror, and KVY was given a 10 sec penalty in error.

KVY was given the 10 second penalty for the incident with Stroll, not the GRO crash.

Cheers! I don't have race live, just watching the highlights.
