$120K. No.
Are there other cleaner examples for sale ?

120k, right in the feels. Had one back in the day in bad condition, wish I would have refinished it.

That's the point; refinished this, replaced that, is not representative of $120,000 clean. It's hard to understand why plastic fender well trim parts need replacement and the plastic splashield? The fenders are refinished after just 8,000 miles in 32 years? I had an E30 for 18 years and 250,000 miles and never even removed those parts. The BAT listing offers no real explanations as to why the splash shield was replaced and the fenders refinished and the plastic wheel well covers replaced. Odd parts to replace just due to low mileage and age. I can see the other repairs are age and low mileage related as they are the OFHG, oil pan gasket, crank seals, etc. And a new throwout bearing and clutch fork? Especially the clutch fork? Sorry, that makes no sense unless it rusted out after 32 years. I could see the throwout bearing due to age, but the clutch fork; hummm. The replacement muffler looks like it has a BMW stamp on it, but based on the realoem schematics, its clamps are in the wrong place. Maybe the schematic is inaccurate.

If I was gong to bid that kind of money I'd want to have specific details on all of that.

Just one of the many examples that in those days, the BMW designers were on top of their game. Still today, it looks like a real gem!

That makes sense. I haven't followed this market at all and was generally curious. For example, no story car (and just as clean) with 20-30k vs this one. Stories drastically diminish interest.

A few people in the BaT comments explained that BMW had a service shop at the port.
Some cars arrived with numerous levels of transport damage and one possibility is that this car had paint damage on arrival and then BMW would fix the car before it was send further to dealers.

Seller explains the deal with the exhaust, which is an Evo version.

Absolutely insane. When this auction hit I said 120K which it hit within 24 or 48 hours. Who would've thought $250K would take this even with a resprayed front fender.

good for him.

looks like most are selling for the price of a new F80
this guy sold his for the price of a GT3RS

I'd say he made the better play by keeping this a garage queen.

Guess people are dumber than me, because it sold for $250k. Guess $120k was... absurdly low.
