I don't understand how he got away with that for so long. I once had a university credit card and had to account for every penny spent every month. Someone wasn't paying attention or he was very good at faking receipts.

I was told, from friends not ME lol, strip clubs code as cafe's or something respectable sounding so your credit card/charges look ordinary, maybe the bean counters assumed he was buying dinners for faculty groups and never for Tiffany, Amber or Ginger in the champagne room

Soon to be Extinguished Distinguished Professor: I spent the money on hookers, strip clubs, blow, and booze. I wasted the rest.

so what's astonishing about this story (if you're from Philly or nearby) is that the charges against this genius were brought by Larry Krasner. when i first saw the headline i assumed it must be a Federal charge but nope, it was Krasner. people familiar with Krasner would have predicted that, given the same evidence, Krasner would have put the Professor in charge of the PBA Pension Fund. to put it a different way for our Left Coast friends, Krasner makes Chesa Boudin look like Roy Bean.
so because it was Krasner i'm guessing there's a lot more to this story.
