Glass Residue

There seems to be some kind of residue on the windshield and back glass, not so on the side glass. Anyone know what this is and how to remove it? My Detailers Pro glass cleaner doesn't seem to do the trick and it usually can remove anything. I was thinking about using rubbing alcohol.

Thanks.

ive had this. you just need to clean it a bunch. its just a painful process. I used 3M glass cleaner but it still took quite a few passes.

So I went with Zaino glass polish after a good cleaning with DP's glass cleaner and then a coat of Klasse all-in-one. The glass is so clear now it's like its not there. The Klasse will help keep it that way.

Hmm nice I have a similar issue on my current car.... just so I'm on the same track here, are these the products you used?

- Zaino http://www.zainostore.com/product/Z-12.html
- DP Krystal Vision Clean Glass Combo https://www.autogeek.net/dpkrviclglki.html

But then you used...a paint sealant on the windshields after? https://www.autogeek.net/klasseallinone.html ? Bit confused on that last one... as opposed to say rainx or similar?

Yes, those are the products I used. I'm sure you can find a fine glass polish at Autogeek that works as well as Zaino. I used Zaino because I had it on hand. I use Klasse all-in-one on paint, glass and plastic. One of my favorite go to products. It's a polish more than a sealant. It works better than rainx and it's easier to use - and again has more uses.

If you really want your paint to pop, use the all-in-one followed by Klasse Sealant Glaze. However, do not use the Glaze on glass.

50/50 isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber is probably the easier way to get the crap off.

Good cleaner is just clear vinegar & water or invisible glass. I haven't used it yet but read good things about Aquapel as a glass sealant.

I tried both these things without any success. The alcohol just melted the adhesive and smeared it around more.

DP blows Invisible Glass away for normal cleaning, but neither stands a chance against this adhesive.

Putting a coating on the windshield is a major pain. I'd recommend something easy to take off. I used the g-technic product but regretted the effort. It'd look fine from head on but looking at it from the side it was a mess. Got some wiper stutter from it too.

Klasse all-in-one is easy to apply and maintain, with Sonus spritz. Same as my paint. Glass is clear, shiny and easy to clean. No streaks or wiper stutter. Don't even use the wipers over 35mph or so. Water blows right off.

For those using Klasse, do you apply it in an up/down, side-to-side or orbital motion? Does it matter / affect visibility?

Doesn't really matter how you apply it, just not to heavy and be sure to get good coverage. I use a DA (on glass and paint). My glass looks like it's not even there. Visibility is great.

You didn't say it was a adhesive. Then just use "goof off" from hardware store followed by your DP glass cleaner.
