My Sub and Speedy keep great time. You have to know how to position them when off the wrist. They both naturally run fast, however if I keep the Speedy wound daily and placed crown down it will slow and hold it's time. The longer the spring is unwound the faster it gets. This is why a daily wind will help keep a consistent time. The Sub I place face up and at a 30-45 degree angle with the top of the watch elevated. This keeps the time (no gain or loss). If it's too fast, I place the watch vertically and it will slow.

2-3 minutes in a day indicates a significant issue. time to get them serviced.

Just had my Omega 8500 serviced and it's more accurate than when it was new.
Something to keep in mind is power reserve. One average the accuracy of a mechanical will vary not only l due to position but also by tge amount of power generated as the mainspring unwinds. My Omega 8500 has two in sequence where the idea is to provide consistent level of power over a long period of time.

All of my modern Rolex's were fine. Maybe would lose a minute after a couple of months.
My older, classic Rolex's (close to 50 years old) run a little slow, but it takes a few weeks to notice the change. I'd never change my mechanical watch for a quartz - ever.
