Photoshop help please

So im trying to make a vinyl for F30post.com but i suck at photoshop/illustrator.
What im trying to do is create a live trace object so i can blow up the image to any size i want and get it cut by a vinyl machine

ive attached what i got so far
the pdf file is the base stripped version of the logo
the psd is my attempt editing to make it better for live trace
the ai is the attempt at live trace
any help would be great!

Use the pen tool. I am on iPad so can't open files but just in case you're trying to trace with a select or something, it won't work. If already using the pen tool, it's all about adding the curves and points (as many as needed) to match the underlying image.

Also generally AI (Illustrator) is the proper tool for this job as its all vector drawing, which professionally is used for this type of application.

live trace will never work for this. trust me, i do vinyl all day long (even for this 1addicts site) - if you send a blob to the cutter, you'll get a sticker that looks like a blob. your best bet is trying to track down that font or just use one close to it. use illustrator only, photoshop will not work for vinyl. hope that helped?
