Because while I agree it isn't always black or white, I was suggesting that shooting him (had he been holding a mythical remote control device) may have done more damage than not shooting him.

While you appear to be advocating to blaze away. Not that I'm necessarily against that in certain cases either...saves a lot of legal fees and in those cases the guy deserves to die...but I think you need to be sure you won't cause additional harm to others by applying what is effectively capital punishment...ie mythical remote control detonator.

I wasn't advocating to blaze away, my point was that it isn't always as simple as knowing that the person isn't currently holding a gun.

I was at a meeting in Toronto yesterday when this tragedy happened. We stopped the meeting and looked at the horrifying pictures being broadcasted live and I personally felt like vomiting as my sister, brother and most of my friends live couple streets above yonge street and my lawyers office is about 50 feet from where the van finally stopped.

One thing I must say is that the media here didn't try to immediately connect him to a particular race hence creating debates and divisions. He was a mentally disturbed nut case and there was no indication that he'd ever do a thing like that having listened to his friends and collage friends describing him. Seemed like a loaner but the fact that he was arrested alive can shed a light on his motivation. I'm personally conflicted whether the cop did the right thing not shooting him or not and still can't beleive the restraining power that he exhibited but at this time my thoughts are with the families of the victims and wish I could help any way that I can.

A go fund me site was set up to help the families and no doubt in my mind the good people of Toronto will pull out of this tragedy soon.

Never heard of the term Incel before. Supposedly the nut case identified himself as one.

The cop here clearly knew the suspect had no gun. There was no imminent threat to life. Shooting him would not be warranted.

This isn't a PC issue. This has been the law for centuries.

I suggest not going to the subreddit. You will laugh for about 5 minutes until you realize that some of those people are actually serious... and then you will cringe uncontrollably...

edit: apparently that subreddit was banned back in November...
